About Veldra
A small company in Tallinn that cares a great deal about where your page breaks land.
Veldra Convert began in 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia, when the three of us — document engineers who had spent years building publishing and typesetting tools — grew tired of fixing the same problem: conversions that quietly ruined the documents they were meant to help. So we founded Veldra Labs and built the converter we had always wanted to use. Our slogan — "Convert anything. Keep your formatting." — is not a marketing line; it is the specification we write code against. Everything else on this page follows from it.
What we care about
- Formatting survives. We judge our work by what arrives at the other end: fonts, tables, footnotes, page breaks and colour profiles should look as they did before. A conversion that loses a footnote is a failed conversion, however quickly it ran.
- Your files are yours. Every uploaded file is deleted after two hours. We carry no advertising and no trackers, and we do not build profiles of the people who use the service.
- Subscriptions, not surveillance. Our paid plans fund the service instead of data. If a feature cannot pay for itself honestly, we would rather not build it.
- A small team that answers. Support emails are read and answered personally by the people who write the code. When you write to us, you reach the people responsible.
How we work
Every change we make is tested against a library of real-world documents: annual reports with stubborn tables, theses dense with footnotes, brochures tuned to a particular colour profile, meeting minutes that break across pages in unhelpful places. When a conversion disappoints, we ask to see the document, add it to the library, and make sure it converts properly from that day on. The library grows with the service, and nothing ships until the whole of it passes.
We are a small company and intend to remain one. The same people who design a conversion also review its results, and every engineer spends time answering support mail, so the distance between complaint and correction stays short. We release improvements when they are ready rather than when a calendar suggests, and we would rather decline a conversion honestly than return a mangled file with a confident smile.
